Everything you need to know about Evening Primrose

Description:
A hardy biennial forming a rosette of soft, hairy, grey/ green, oblanceolate-shaped leaves 15cm long, that sit close to the ground. As the plant grows, a smaller rosette of leaves form in the centre of the larger leaves. The leaves have fine, soft-toothed margins, and white raised midribs. brilliant yellow, pink, or white cups or goblets

Cultivation:
Happiest in dry open areas similar to the open meadows where they thrive in the wild. Pink and white varieties flower for months but can be invasive without pruning (like mint) . Propagation by seed or cutting.
Uses:
soothing for skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea and dermatitis. Also good for reducing hairloss, inflammation and maintaining hormone balance. Especially helpful for minimising symptoms around that time of the month.

Thai Chicken Soup with Thai Basil and Fresh Coriander Receipe

Fresh herbs make all the difference when cooking. Asian food particularly really will zing with flavour if you can pick herbs from your garden or windowsill.

Recipe

Place 400 ml Chicken stock, 400 ml coconut milk in a saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer

Meanwhile, prepare 4 kaffir lime leaves crushed, 1-2 fresh Thai chillis chopped, 2 cm fresh galangal root chopped, 2 fresh lemongrass stems crushed and chopped Place into stock and simmer for 10 minutes

Prepare 250 gm lean chicken breast chopped, 150 gm mushrooms chopped Place into the simmering soup and cook a further 10 minutes

Before serving add 15 ml lime juice, 30 ml fish sauce, chopped fresh Thai Basil and/or coriander
